Lhokseumawe, acehkita.com. Ratusan rumah bantuan tsunami di empat kabupaten/kota di Aceh, kondisinya sangat memprihatinkan. Karena bantuan rumah baik yang diberikan oleh NGO dan Badan Rehabilitasi dan Rekontruksi (BRR) Aceh-Nias, kebanyakan tidak layak huni.
Hal itu terungkap berdasarkan temuan tim investigasi Komisi Darurat Kemanusiaan (KDK). KDK menuding pihak pelaksana rekonstruksi Aceh melalukan penyimpangan dan penyelewenangan dana pembangunan rumah bagi korban tsunami.

Just when you think you have things figured out, they turn topsy-turvy on you. This might be the best way to describe the fallout caused by those advocating the division of Aceh into two new provinces. There is no economic, political, or administrative need for establishing a new province in Aceh right now. The idea of dividing Aceh into two provinces comes solely from the political elite's interest groups who want to gain greater power locally, however irresponsibly.
Locally, these groups are mainly composed of the elite from the highlands of Aceh -- Central Aceh, South East Aceh, Benar Meriah. Last year, while the government representatives and Free Aceh Movement (GAM) leaders met in Helsinki to labor on the peace agreement, the political elite of Aceh met in Jakarta to strengthen their demands for a new province called Aceh Leuser Antara (ALA).

Salah seorang korban, Muhajir (34), kepada acehkita di sela-sela acara doa bersama memperingati tujuh tahun tragedi Simpang KKA, Rabu (3/5), mengungkapkan tidak jelasnya proses hukum terjadi karena langsung diberlakukan keadaan darurat tidak lama setelah peristiwa itu.Acara itu diikuti puluhan masyarakat dari sejumlah gampong di kecamatan Dewantara, Aceh Utara, dengan maksud untuk menolak bala dan ketenangan para arwah korban.
Sejak Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Helsinki ditandatangani tanggal 15 Agustus 2005 oleh Pemerintah RI dan GAM banyak perubahan positif bisa dinikmati rakyat Acheh. Situasi keamanan yang mulai kondusif adalah salah satu contoh nyata, sehingga rakyat Aceh bisa menjalani kehidupan sehari-hari secara normal. Ini terjadi karena Teuntara Neugara Acheh (TNA) serta TNI/Polri telah menghentikan konflik bersenjata/perang.
Demikian bunyi salah satu bagian dari selebaran yang dikeluarkan oleh Sentral Informasi Referendum Acheh (SIRA), menanggapi lambannya pengesahan UU PA oleh Pemerintah RI. Selebaran itu sendiri telah dibagi-bagikan di berbagai kampus dan tempat, sebagai bentuk komitmen SIRA menjaga perdamaian dan memberikan rasa keadilan kepada rakyat Acheh.

On his first visit to the Northeast, an admittedly “inspired” Nessen said his future project could be based on the “stories of the struggles of the people of the region”.
The UK-based filmmaker’s area of interest is not just conflicts or struggles. “All important events concerning the region need to be documented through films,” he said.
